A ppt which will help you compliment the to teach the topic of a special birthday from the Viva 3 rojo textbook. The preterite tense is very quickly recapped here and there is an activity to put the 3 tenses in practice. A few vocab items are introduced with the game que falta, but using the textbook would be ideal to introduce them all. Listening activities are ready with answers; also manipulated to make them most of them and include variety. Opportunities for writing and creative writing are included; also speaking in tenses and discussing presents. Check out the bottom notes on each slide - often you will find instructions to tasks.

Unit 3.1 from Mira express 1 with a variety of activities

A worksheet on LGBT topic that I created based on the AQA A-level Spanish textbook, Unit 3 La Igualdad de los Sexos (3.3 los derechos de los gays y las personas transgenero) but which can be adapted to any textbook. It contains a video and a few follow-up activities, grammar gapfills, vocabulary activities and questions to talk about.

An Ofsted outstanding lesson to prepare students to be able to talk about future jobs and plans using a range of tenses, and introducing the simple conditional. Pack includes: a lesson plan, a starter with MWBs, speaking, listening, reading, writing with peer assessment, and grammar activities with dice and worksheet.

As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. That includes the introduction of the perfect tense in this instance. This resource includes all you need to introduce these 3 tenses of the subjunctive to your students; many hours of work have gone into it. You will find, for each tense: uses and a lot of different examples formation irregular forms controlled practice exercises guided practice exercises freer practice exercises, catering for different abilities. You will also find links to independent online practice and combined tenses (e.g. presente de subjuntivo vs perfecto) activities in case you want to give your students a an extra chanllenge. A competitive reading activity called question trails to make reading more fun. This question trails exercise is based on a text on Afroperuvian music (AQA AS Spanish - El patrimonio musical topic). Activity took 2 hours to create but it was well worth it - students worked in pairs and had fun trying to complete the activity first. Rewards can be given for extra motivation to the pair finishing first. As students will have to read the text carefully, the whole activity will easily take around 20-30 minutes to carry out, depending on ability. All instructions and handouts required are inside of the pack. Answers included too. Could stretch the activity even further by having students write a summary on the text once the competition is over. A different and fun way to get students reading for detail without complaining!

This topic is meant to be covered in year 5 (11), but I personally embedded it within the topic 2A (self, family and friends), as it’s very related to this topic. What’s included: resources for Unit 4A: Childhood, which at the same time includes activities for subsection: 4A.1cuando era pequeno/a… I have different bundles available on my profile for each textbook topic.

This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from Module 2 “En el instituto" in Mira 1. There are a range of activities to do in the classroom, worksheets, vocab tests some homework ideas, and also grammar worksheets. A 100-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 3.1 ¿Qué te gusta comer? from the Viva 2 textbook. You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to talk at length about food & drink, say what they like and dislike and why, say what they like eating/drinking/having and why, a range of adjectives to describe food & drink, and the introduction of the direct object pronoun to stretch high attainers. Ppt contains vocab sheets if you print these for your ss; vocab tests and activities to put all skills into practice. There are a good amount of starter/plenary ideas included, and 2 vocab test that can be easily adapted. A ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 2.4 Qué hiciste ayer from the Viva 2 textbook. As the preterite tense was introduced a module ago, I created a range of mainly listening comprehension activities following Gianfranco Conti’s communicative approach. This lesson is thus very teacher-led at the start, engaging students in a different range of activities which go at a fast and dynamic pace. On the notes pane you will find instructions on how to conduct each activity. Answers also included.

A nice differentiated pair speaking task where student A and B take turns to test each other in the understanding of topic vocabulary. Suitable for the GCSE topic of special occasions and festivities. Student A has a set of 15 sentences to review the topic of special occasions and festivals that student B needs to answer correctly in order to move up the ladder, one at a time. A has the correct translations of these sentences. Student B has another set of 15 sentences (with the meaning as well) to test A.

This resource covers unit 5.3 from the Stimmt 2 textbook ‘Ich mache mich fertig’, dealing with the second part on the topic of first dates (resources for this available on my profile) and with forming questions in the 2nd person singular. 25 slides with vocabulary and exercises following closely pages 102 and 103 from the textbook including some additions to it.
